Legacy I/O Subsystem Virtualization
A typical problem when replacing a legacy computer system is interfacing to the existing I/O subsystem. Matching the timing, electrical signals and the physical electrical connections can be a real challenge. Although the TITAN VM software handles the virtualization of the legacy computer onto a new Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) computer, the legacy I/O needs to be interfaced to the newly virtualized legacy computer.

How will this work?
Enter the TITAN IO module. This module is designed to be flexible and customizable to enable interface from the legacy IO subsystem to the new virtual TITAN VM system. The TITAN IO module uses a state-of-the-art, field programmable gate array (FPGA) with multiple on-chip industry standard PowerPC processor cores to provide flexible, intelligent interface processing capability in an extremely small form factor.
TITAN IO includes slots for very small, pluggable interface adapter modules that can be quickly tailored to provide multiple industry standard or custom interface ports. Both VxWorks and Linux operating systems are supported for the embedded PowerPC cores. TITAN IO can be customized for customers to enable 3rd party intellectual property cores which are to be integrated into the FPGA fabric for customer specific applications.
The combination of industry standard interfaces, embedded processing and rapid reconfigurability in a small form factor makes TITAN IO a natural choice for adding data mining, protocol conversion and information fusion to your legacy platform at an affordable cost.
