vtAlpha is a software product from Vere Technologies that offers the hardware interface of an Alpha computer system, while running on a regular Intel or AMD processor based system. It allows the owners of Alpha computer systems to simply copy their Alpha disk content to the new host computer and run their Alpha based software on a totally different hardware architecture. No application software migration is required, saving enormous amounts of effort, time and money. You are no longer locked into your Alpha, and can now easily move it to a more common platform, thus easily integrating your Alpha systems in your preferred IT infrastructure.
vtAlpha can run directly on the x86 host. It includes an integrated operating system kernel that supports a broad range of peripheral devices, ensuring the vtAlpha solution supports and will continue to support most available x86 related peripherals.
It is an x86-based Alpha, a unique proposition.
vtAlpha also runs on virtual machines. Virtual machines are increasingly becoming the IT infrastructure of choice with our potential users. Therefore, our solution is designed to support that environment.
